“The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.” Genesis 12:1 There aren’t too many times in Scripture where we can find God asking someone to do something and He gives that person all the details, all the steps needed, and the final outcome. Nor does He make sure that they totally understand everything first, so they can evaluate the risks and plan accordingly before they make their decision to embark on this journey. In contrast, God makes the call and explains the first step needed at a time, without giving the final outcome, or even giving further steps. God provides us with each step separately, given at the appropriate time, and often, only after the previous step has been completed. Abraham was a wonderful example of a faithful disciple. Abraham heard God’s call, His one step plan, and without question he would do as the Lord asked, understanding full well that the Lord knew best, loved Him, had his best interests in mind, would protect Him, and could be depended on. God’s plans for us are good!! “For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “ plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 God bless you, Brett & Michelle
